VERBIO secures 25.2 per cent of Neckermann Renewables Wittenberg GmbH

Zörbig/Leipzig, 27 January 2008 – VERBIO Vereinigte BioEnergie AG (VERBIO) has acquired 25.2 per cent of Neckermann Renewables Wittenberg GmbH, Wittenberg.

The shares were acquired by exercising an option right. It was agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

By taking a stake in Neckermann Renewables Wittenberg GmbH, VERBIO – as one of the largest regional processors of rapeseed oil – now has access to the oil mill in Wittenberg, which enables 500,000 tonnes of rapeseed to be processed each year. This corresponds to a production capacity of 200,000 tons of rapeseed oil per year. VERBIO intends with the investment to further improve its own provision with rapeseed oil.
