VERBIO Ethanol Zörbig GmbH & Co. KG

VERBIO Ethanol Zörbig went into operation in September 2004 in Zörbig and was the first location in Germany where bioethanol was produced for use in fuels.

  The plant was developed with the company’s own know-how and optimized in an ongoing process. 270,000 tons of grain are processed there annually using a new method: for the most part rye, but also triticale and wheat. The modern and energy-efficient plant produces ethanol with a purity of over 99.8 percent.
