Working at Verbio
working for the climate

We need more clean energy – and Verbio supplies it. Renewable, sustainable, climate-friendly. We process raw and residual materials from regional agriculture into high-quality energy and valuable renewable co-products for industrial use. Our innovative, self-developed technologies create energy- and CO₂-efficient production processes in particular. Here at Verbio, teams of engineers, chemical plant operators, technicians, chemical plant operators, business administrators, and logistics experts work hand in hand, across national borders, and across continents.

Help us shape a greener future! Interested? Get to know our team better!

Process engineer (m/f/d)

„Continuous optimization of the production plant during ongoing operations“

Our plants are based on technologies and processes developed in-house by Verbio. This sets Verbio apart from our competition. It is the process engineer’s job to drive these developments even further. In cooperation with the departments that carry out the daily operation, technical maintenance, and control of the plant, the process engineer constantly checks which production optimizations are possible, which new products can also be obtained from the raw materials used, and how the efficiency of the plant can be increased. If possible, this is done without interfering with the smooth running of production operations in order to minimize plant downtimes and production losses.

Operating engineer (m/f/d)

„Ensuring that the plant operates smoothly“

Operating engineers are responsible for the smooth operation of the plant in accordance with planned processes and the successful realization of projects in close coordination with other departments - from scheduling, laboratory, and production, to research and development as well as management. Operating engineers coordinate the necessary raw materials and supplies and monitor the technical operation of the plant. In addition, they develop proposals for process and technology optimization for greater efficiency and stable plant performance.

Plant operator/chemical plant operator (f/m/d)

„Information enables coordination“

Being a plant operator means actively supervising the process and managing the plant. Constant monitoring of the defined parameters guarantees stable production. When variances occur, the plant operator needs to react quickly and coordinate the staff needed to implement changes in the work processes. Regular inspections of the plant during tours and the taking of samples from production are just as important as computer-controlled monitoring on screens in the control room.

Answers to key questions

We are working for climate protection and a greener future. To this end, we develop new technologies and put them into practice on a commercial scale. At the same time, our focus is on economic stability and profitable growth. We offer our employees a secure job in an international environment, with flat hierarchies and plenty of scope to help shape the Verbio Group. Our products, plants, and technologies are sustainable and forward-looking.

Verbio relies on flat hierarchies with short decision-making paths. This secures our competitive edge and our flexibility in the market. Our international  team works together successfully across the globe. We are therefore looking for colleagues who look forward to challenges, who are prepared to break new ground, and who will be happy to contribute new ideas, support the team conscientiously and reliably, contribute their specialist knowledge and share it within the team, work independently, and take responsibility for their specialist areas.

Before you join, the responsible department will create an onboarding plan that will include various stations. New employees will receive an introduction to the most important corporate and work-safety information from the Human Resources department on their first work day. Then you will be transferred to your technical department. Based on your onboarding plan, in your first weeks with the company you will become familiar with the team and the basics of the work that you will subsequently perform independently.

We offer you a responsible and challenging range of tasks with interesting perspectives for future development.

Our remuneration package includes an annual share of the success of the business in the form of a variable bonus. You will have the opportunity to exchange feedback with your supervisor in annual employee meetings.

We provide support for your professional and personal development in the form of training and seminar attendance, as well as study programs accompanying your work. An employees’ pension arrangement is provided after one year of employment; you are entitled to make additional voluntary contributions to this scheme. Verbio places a high value on the compatibility of work and family, and therefore we subsidize childcare for you and offer flexible parental working arrangements.

We keep you fit with health days and sports events. In addition, we offer you special deals for professional sports offers, e.g., at Urban Sports.

Where available, you will be provided with discount arrangements for your daily commute to work by public transportation.

At all our German locations we offer bicycle leasing under the “Job-bike” (JobRad) program. The bicycle of your choice will be leased for you by Verbio, and it can be used for the ride to work as well as in your free time. This program provides an attractive price advantage compared to a private purchase arrangement.

We support our employees in their professional development by providing training and seminars. As a result of our expansion projects there is the possibility to advance your career nationally or internationally within the company or within the Verbio Group as a whole. At all times this is done in line with the agreements made between you and your supervisor.

Verbio currently has subsidiaries in Europe, Asia and North America. Some of these are responsible for administrative tasks (procurement, sales), some undertake research and development projects, and some are manufacturing entities. The internationalization of Verbio has only just started, with further international activities planned in the future. Depending on relevant qualifications, these will offer you various opportunities to work in foreign locations on a temporary or long-term basis, or even opportunities to develop your career at one of our foreign subsidiaries. In many departments there are opportunities to be part of international teams while working at our German operations, as well.

Our German locations regularly have spots available for apprenticeships as chemical plant operators (m/f/d). As a rule, apprentices are offered continued employment at the company after successfully completing their training. We also train chemical laboratory technicians (m/f/d), electricians (m/f/d), mechatronic engineers (m/f/d), truck drivers (m/f/d), and agricultural service technicians (m/f/d). However, these apprenticeships are not all available in every training year, and are not all available at all of Verbio’s German locations. If you are interested, refer to our training section on a regular basis.

Please reach out to us. We offer opportunities for students to work with us while writing their dissertations/thesis or employment as an intern or working student depending on the task, subject area, objective and duration. These are based on individual agreements.
