VERBIO installed a physterol production at its site in Bitterfeld (Germany). The technology extracts sterols from rapeseed oil which is used for VERBIO's biodiesel production. Upon the latest ramping up of the plant VERBIO became one of the world's leading sterol manufactures. The installation is part of our strategy to gain growth in new segments and markets outside European biofuels market.

Phytosterols are contained in vegetable oils. They are used as high-quality raw materials in foodstuffs and pharmaceutical industries to produce either foods having cholesterin-lowering effects or hormons.

verbiosterol is made from locally produced rapeseed oil and is 100% GMO free.
